A little help, whenever you need it.
A quiet home for the walks, photos, and small adventures you share with your dog.
How do I start a walk?
Open Today, create your companion, and pull the leash or tap the down-arrow control. You can pause, add a sniff stop, or finish using the controls at the bottom. Finishing opens a form for an optional title, note, and photo.
Do I have to share my location?
No. You can use the timer and save memories without location permission. Route recording needs location access. During an active walk, recording can continue with the screen locked; pausing or finishing stops route recording. Local weather is a separate, optional setting in the sky control on Today.
Where is my journal saved?
Your private journal stays on your iPhone and syncs through your private iCloud account when available. Private sync is free and does not require a Walkie account. iCloud syncing depends on your account, storage, network and system scheduling. Care Together uses a separate service for walks you share: once you pair and match a shared dog on this iPhone, new walks with that dog go automatically. Pairs made before automatic sharing arrived are asked once. You can share other walks one at a time, or the last 30 days in one tap when Walkie offers it; pairing or matching dogs never uploads your earlier walks.
How do I change or delete a memory?
Open Journal, choose the memory, and use the menu in the top-right corner. Edit memory changes its title, note, or photo. Delete memory removes that entry and its saved content; the deletion reaches other devices when iCloud syncs. When this iPhone is signed in to Care Together and can see the walk’s shared copies, editing its title, note or photo updates those copies. Deleting the walk on a phone signed in to Care Together removes the copy too when the iPhone can confirm the walk’s shared copies. If removing a known copy isn’t confirmed, Walkie keeps the journal entry, says the removal isn't confirmed and asks you to try again. If the iPhone can’t see its copies, but has paired or holds sharing consent, Walkie tells you before you delete: “If it was shared, its copy stays until you stop sharing it in Journal.”
How do reminders work?
Open the walking-rhythm settings from Today or Companion. Turn reminders on, choose your times, and save. Notifications require your permission. A completed walk quiets reminders for two hours. Open Walkie regularly to refresh the next two weeks of reminders.
How do I restore purchased icons or worlds?
Open the icon or world collection and choose Restore Purchases using the App Store account that bought it. Collections are one-time purchases; choose your preferred icon or world separately on each phone. Account-bound purchases can provide online use to an active paired partner. A partner grant is separate from purchase ownership, and older personal purchases are not automatically assigned to a Walkie account.
How do I change the language?
Walkie supports English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Choose the app language in iPhone Settings. Date, time, and distance formatting also follow your regional preferences. Text you wrote in your journal is preserved as you entered it.
Why don't I see Image Playground?
Image Playground is optional and appears only on supported devices and configurations. Your photos and the 30 pixel companions remain available without it. Walkie enables only Apple's illustration, sketch, and animation styles.
Which iPhones can use Walkie?
Walkie requires iOS 26 or later. Live Activity presentation, Dynamic Island, and Image Playground availability depend on the device and system settings.
What does Care Together share?
One sharing plan covers two paired caregivers and one or two shared dogs. Pairing means sharing: once you both confirm and you match a shared dog to the one in your journal, each new walk with that dog goes to the other caregiver. A shared walk carries its title, note, times, distance, sniff and potty counts, and photo; photos are sent as fresh copies with no location or other metadata, and routes stay off unless you add one. You can keep any walk private, before or after saving. While a share is being sent, wait for its result, then use Keep private. Ending the pairing stops automatic sharing. Walks from before you paired stay private unless you share them. Walks without a shared dog stay private. A walk with a shared dog and another dog is shared, naming only the shared dog. When this iPhone is signed in to Care Together and can see the walk’s shared copies, edits update those copies and deleting the walk removes them.
How do I accept an invitation?
Open the original invitation link and review the dogs and permissions in Walkie. If installation interrupts the journey, return to the original link or deliberately paste its full link in Care Together. The recipient accepts, then the organizer confirms. An expired or cancelled invitation needs a new link; opening or pasting a link never accepts it automatically.
What happens if the sharing plan expires?
New paid sharing pauses. Eligible verified expiry allows fourteen days of shared downloads, then server content reads pause. Billing lapse does not delete your memories or private journal. Privacy actions remain available. An included partner checks the current payer’s coverage rather than buying another plan automatically; uncertain verification offers a retry rather than declaring the plan unpaid.
